A towering Mycelial Spire of twisted teal fungus glows in a dark cavern, firing spores at Blight beetles that creep in from the edge

Grow a spire.
Hold the Blight.

An idle tower defense in a pitch-black fungal hollow. Your spire aims and fires glowing spores by itself. Your only job is to decide what it grows into.

The loop

Tap to grow. Watch it fight. Come back stronger.

The same compulsive loop as the idle defense classics, set in a moody, glowing 3D diorama built for one-handed portrait play. You never aim. Every input is a tap on a big button.

  1. Grow

Kills drop Nectar. Spend it mid-run across THORN, BARK and ROOT. Every purchase changes the spire you can see.

  2. Defend

The Blight crawls in from the dark, visible only in your spire's glow. Your spire aims and fires by itself. Waves escalate and a boss arrives every ten.

  3. Upgrade

Every run ends by design. When the spire wilts, your Spores go into the Mycelium Workshop for permanent levels, so the next run starts stronger.

  4. Return

Close the app and your mycelium keeps harvesting Spores for up to 8 hours. Come back, collect, and push one wave further than last time.

  • Nectar: spent during a run, resets each run
  • Spores: permanent, spent in the Workshop
Stage 5 of the Mycelial Spire: the Crowned World-Tree

Stage 5 of 5Crowned World-Tree

Drag to rotate

Grow your Spire

From a sprout to a crowned world-tree.

You are the Sporewright, keeper of the last living Mycelial Spire. It is the only light in the world, and it grows with every upgrade you buy, through five stages.

  1. Sprout 3.0 m

A single glowing teal mushroom on a root stump. Every run starts here.

  2. Young Spire 4.2 m

A twisted trunk with shelf fungi and a cap of glowing spore bulbs.

  3. Root Thicket 5.4 m

A tangle of deep-blue roots bristling with glowing mushroom caps.

  4. Canopy Tree 6.4 m

A tall dark trunk spreading a wide canopy of violet shelf caps.

  5. Crowned World-Tree 7.2 m

A luminous trunk ringed by tiers of violet caps on a wide root base. The long-term goal.

  • THORN buys add launcher bulbs to the cap, glowing pinker as Critical Chance rises.
  • BARK buys armor the trunk in shelf-fungus plates and raise a shield dome.
  • ROOT buys spread glowing root veins across the forest floor.

Three upgrade trees

Decide what it grows into.

22 in-run upgrades bought with Nectar, plus 2 that live only in the Workshop. Costs reset every run, so every run starts with cheap buys, and each upgrade has a permanent Workshop twin you level with Spores. You start with 10 and unlock 14 more as your best wave climbs.

  • Nectar, in the run

From kills, wave ends and Interest. Buy x1, x10 or MAX.

  • Spores, forever

From kills, wave ends, milestones and offline harvest. Spent in the Mycelium Workshop.

Bestiary

Know the Blight.

Eleven kinds of Blight, two of them bosses. Each creature is visible only once it enters your spire's glow, and each one asks a different question of your build.

The Rot Colossus, a hulking boss of rotten bark with a crimson rim light

A ROT COLOSSUS STIRS

Rot Colossus

A hulking boss that walks in on every tenth wave, announced by a red pulse and a camera push-in. Its footsteps shake the screen, knockback can't move it, and Glowcap Orbs can only wound it, never destroy it outright.

  • Boss · from Tier 1
  • Every 10th wave
  • Immune to knockback
The Blight Matriarch, a towering boss of the Blight Heart

Deep boss · Tier 5+

Blight Matriarch

The Blight Heart's own boss. Every 7 seconds she calls two Cavern Burrowers up beside her, and they slip under your spire's fire. From wave 15 on Tier 5 and deeper, she takes turns with the Rot Colossus.

  • Boss · from Tier 5
  • Summons burrowers
  • Immune to knockback
  • Rot Beetle
    Tier 1+Basic

    Rot Beetle

The endless swarm. Crawls to the spire and chews on it, once a second.

  • Mold Crawler
    Tier 1+Fast

    Mold Crawler

Twice as fast as a beetle and frailer. It reaches the spire before you notice.

  • Withered Husk
    Tier 1+Tank

    Withered Husk

Slow, heavy and hard to push back. The screen shakes when it slams into the spire.

  • Blight Spitter
    Tier 1+Ranged

    Blight Spitter

Stops just outside your starting range and lobs rot globs that always hit.

    Answer: buy Range.

  • Canker Warden
    Tier 3+Protector

    Canker Warden

Never attacks. Halves the damage taken by Blight around it, marked by a violet ground ring.

  • Puffball Splitter
    Tier 4+Splitter

    Puffball Splitter

Bursts into three Mold Crawlers when it dies.

  • Cavern Burrower
    Tier 4+Burrower

    Cavern Burrower

Tunnels in where spores and orbs can't reach, then surfaces right beside the spire.

Answer: close damage, Barbed Cap, Health.

  • Heartrot Brute
    Tier 5+Shielded

    Heartrot Brute

A regrowing shield soaks damage first. Chip damage loses to it; burst damage wins.

  • Canopy Wraith
    Tier 6Phasing

    Canopy Wraith

Hovers and flickers into a ghost, out of reach. Spores already in flight lose it.

    Answer: Attack Speed and Multishot.

Elites

Any Blight can spawn as a violet-rimmed Elite: four times the health, harder hits, triple the rewards. They show up deep into long runs, and from the first wave of Tier 5.

Swollen

When the hollow is packed, new arrivals merge into one of their kind, which swells up and pulses. Same total threat, same total rewards.

Six tiers

Dig deeper, from Leaf Litter to The Dead Canopy.

Reach a wave milestone to unlock the next tier: tougher Blight, bigger payouts, and a new look for the hollow. Each tier also pays Spore rewards at seven wave milestones.

  1. Tier 1: Leaf Litter

    Where it begins

    • Beetles, crawlers, husks and spitters
    • A Rot Colossus every 10 waves
    • 1x and 2x speed
  2. Tier 2: Damp Loam

    Wave 40 on Tier 1

    • Tougher Blight
    • Richer Nectar and Spore payouts
  3. Tier 3: Rotwood Hollow

    Wave 50 on Tier 2

    • The Canker Warden appears
    • Unlocks 3x speed
  4. Tier 4: Spore Caverns

    Wave 60 on Tier 3

    • Puffball Splitters and Cavern Burrowers
    • Unlocks 4x speed

    • Heartrot Brutes and the Blight Matriarch
  6. Tier 6: The Dead Canopy

    Wave 100 on Tier 5

    • Canopy Wraiths
    • Pale dead snags, ash-blue ground

FAQ

Questions from the surface.

Anything else? Write to hello@sporewright.com.

What kind of game is Sporewright?

An idle tower defense for phones. You keep a single Mycelial Spire in the middle of a dark fungal hollow. It aims and fires on its own while waves of Blight close in. You spend Nectar on upgrades during the run, and Spores on permanent Workshop levels between runs.

When and where can I play it?

Sporewright is coming to the App Store and Google Play. There is no release date yet. Pre-register below and you'll hear the moment it's out.

Do I need to aim or tap fast?

No. The spire picks its own targets. Every input is a tap on a big button, laid out for one-handed portrait play.

What happens when my spire falls?

Every run ends by design: the Blight grows faster than any spire can. When yours wilts you collect Spores (plus an end-of-run bonus), spend them in the Mycelium Workshop, and start the next run stronger. Hitting wave milestones unlocks deeper tiers.

Does it keep going when I close the app?

Yes. After at least five minutes away, your mycelium harvests Spores for up to 8 hours, and a popup lets you collect them when you return. A run in progress pauses and saves, so you can resume it.

Do I need an account?

No. There are no accounts. Your progress is saved on your device.
